2. Scope of the service

This website and the connected services are related to the BANMOD mod for the videogame Among Us.

The website does not provide public user registration and does not require the creation of an account with email and password.

The mod and the connected server may allow, among other things:

- technical verification and management of the mod client

The service does not require special or sensitive data such as health data, political opinions, religious beliefs, biometric data or similar data.

The user should avoid entering unnecessary personal information, passwords, private tokens, sensitive data or irrelevant content in reports, logs or messages.

4. Technical BepInEx logs

When the user sends a report from the mod, BepInEx logs are sent automatically to allow the controller or authorized administrators to analyze errors, crashes, incompatibilities or technical issues.

The logs may contain technical information generated by the game, the mod, BepInEx or other mods installed by the user.

The mod displays an information notice informing the user that logs will be sent automatically together with the report.

5. Purposes of processing

The data is processed for the following purposes:

- to allow the mod and connected server services to work correctly
- to technically identify the mod client through token, mod ID, friend code or other technical identifiers
- to display information about lobbies and player status
- to allow lobby code sharing, only if the user has enabled that function
- to receive, manage, edit and reply to bug reports, player reports and support requests
- to allow the user to see reports already sent in the mod
- to allow the user to edit or remove their reports from the dedicated section
- to allow administrators to reply to, manage or delete reports server-side
- to analyze technical logs in order to fix bugs, errors or mod incompatibilities
- to manage reports related to players, cheats, abuse or misuse of the mod
- to send server messages to the mod through popups
- to manage popup reminders at configurable intervals, for example 1, 3, 5, 9, 12 or 24 hours
- to prevent abuse, spam, false reports, harassing behavior or misuse of the service
- to protect the server, the mod, the users and the BANMOD project

6. Legal basis for processing

Depending on the case, processing is based on:

- the performance of a service requested by the user, such as using the mod, sending reports, requesting support or receiving technical messages
- the legitimate interest of the controller in the security of the service, prevention of abuse, moderation of content, technical management of the mod and bug fixing
- the user’s consent, where required for specific functions, such as lobby code sharing

7. Provision of data

The provision of certain technical data is necessary to use the functions connected to the server.

- without token, mod ID or friend code, some mod functions may not work correctly
- without the required fields in reports, bug reports or player reports cannot be sent
- bug reports require title, game mode and bug description
- if the user indicates the use of custom roles or other mods, they must specify which ones
- player reports require selecting the player and indicating the reason for the report
- BepInEx logs are sent automatically together with reports because they are necessary for the technical handling of the issue

If the required data is not provided, some functions of the mod or server may not be available.

8. Reports, replies and deletion

Reports sent through the mod may be visible:

- in the dedicated section of the mod, for the user who sent them
- in the panel or server system used by the controller
- in the contact channels server connected to the project, if configured for report management and administrative notifications

The user may, where the function is available:

- view sent reports
- see the report status
- read any administrator replies
- edit certain report contents
- remove or delete the report from their own section in the mod

The controller or authorized administrators may:

- view received reports
- read attached technical logs
- reply to reports
- update report status
- delete reports server-side and user-side, when necessary

Deletion requested or performed by the user may not always result in the immediate deletion of every technical copy, if temporary retention is necessary for security, abuse prevention, technical verification, moderation or protection of the service.

9. contact channels and administrative notifications

Some communications, reports or administrative notifications may be managed through a contact channels server connected to the BANMOD project.

contact channels is an external platform. Data processed directly by contact channels is subject to contact channels’s own terms and privacy notices.

In the contact channels server, authorized administrators may see information necessary to manage reports or notifications, such as report type, title, description, friend code, player name, data of the reported player, report status and administrator reply.

If Telegram notifications or other internal notification systems are configured, these tools are used only for administrative and technical purposes, such as notifying the arrival of new reports, support requests or relevant messages.

10. Server messages, popups and reminders

The server may send messages to the mod, such as technical notices, important communications, service-related notifications or information for users.

These messages may be displayed in the mod through popups.

The system may record:

- message ID
- technical signature of the message
- confirmation that the popup was displayed or closed
- configured reminder interval

Reminder intervals may include:

- 1 hour
- 3 hours
- 5 hours
- 9 hours

This data is used to avoid showing the same message continuously before the configured interval expires. If the content of the message changes, the system may treat it as a new message and display it again.

11. Data retention

Data is kept for the time necessary for the purposes indicated above.

In particular:

- technical mod client data: for the time necessary for operation of the service, security and access management
- reports, replies, logs and technical attachments: for the time necessary to handle the report, solve the issue and protect the service
- closed or no longer necessary reports: may be deleted or anonymized after a reasonable period, depending on technical and organizational needs
- data related to popup messages and read confirmations: for the time necessary to manage reminders and communications
- abusive, offensive, irrelevant or inappropriate content or files: may be removed earlier where necessary for moderation, security or protection of the service

- block friend codes, mod IDs, clients, players, email addresses or other identifiers used in a harassing, abusive or cheat/exploit/bypass-related way
- limit, suspend or revoke technical tokens, API access, online verification, server messages, online functions or other services connected to BANMOD where necessary to prevent abuse or protect the service
- adopt technical and organizational measures to protect the website, mod, server, contact channels and users

To apply these measures, technical data such as mod ID, API token, friend code, hashed PUID where available, player ID, client status, mod version, report data and technical logs may be used. These measures are intended for security, moderation, abuse prevention, spam prevention, false report prevention, manipulated request prevention, malicious client prevention and bypass-attempt prevention.

Each user is responsible for the content they send through the mod, contact channels or other channels connected to the project.

The controller does not approve or endorse unlawful, offensive, racist, threatening or otherwise improper reports, messages or content sent by users and reserves the right to remove them when detected or reported.

13. Automated and semi-automated access checks

For security, moderation, abuse-prevention and service-protection purposes, BANMOD may use automated or semi-automated technical checks.

These checks are used to protect the official BANMOD build, APIs, technical tokens, online verification, reports, server messages, anti-abuse systems and other server-side features from cheat menus, malicious clients, exploit tools, manipulated requests, API abuse, bypass attempts, spam, false reports or other misuse.

These checks may use technical identifiers and data connected to the operation of the service, such as mod ID, API token, friend code, hashed PUID where available, player ID, client status, mod version, language, region, platform, report data, server message data and technical logs.

The possible consequences may include limitation, suspension or revocation of API access, technical tokens, online verification, report features, server messages, moderation tools, anti-abuse systems, connected services or other official BANMOD features.

In serious cases, the official BANMOD build may limit or disable some or all connected features in order to protect the server, the project and other users.

These checks are not used to sell personal data or for marketing purposes. They are used for security, technical management, moderation, abuse prevention and service protection.

If a user believes that a restriction was applied by mistake, they may contact the controller using the email address provided in this Privacy Policy.
